How does an NFC business card work?

The card holds a small amount of data, usually a web link. When a compatible phone reads it, the phone offers to open that link in a browser. The linked profile contains the information you choose to publish.

The tap does not automatically save every detail to the other person's address book or grant access to their contacts. The visitor chooses how to interact with your profile.

Will it work with every phone?

NFC support and reading behavior vary by phone, settings and card placement. Keep the phone unlocked, enable NFC where required, and bring the card close to the phone's NFC reading area.

If the phone does not respond, use your profile QR code or send the link. Test the actual card with the kinds of phones your team and visitors use before relying on it at an event.

Can I change my details without buying a new card?

Yes, when the card points to the same QRTap profile, you can edit that profile without changing the physical card. Managed QRTap card routes also support changing destinations through the workspace.

Editing a profile and rewriting a physical NFC chip are different actions. Confirm how your card is configured before purchasing, reassigning or reusing third-party hardware.

What should I check before ordering NFC cards for a team?

Confirm the current price, card material, artwork, delivery coverage, account requirements and who will manage each card. Also check how a lost card is paused and how cards are reassigned when team members change.

Do people need to install an app to read my card?

A compatible phone can open the profile link in its browser. Visitors do not need to install QRTap to view a public profile.

Does the NFC card need charging?

A passive NFC business card does not need a battery or charging. The phone powers the chip briefly while reading it.

Does tapping a card work without internet?

Reading a link from an NFC chip does not require an internet connection, but loading the linked QRTap profile normally does.

What if I lose a managed QRTap card?

Use the card controls to pause the managed card route. Someone who already saved a copy of information you shared may still have that copy.
